Neuromodulation of cognitive functions
As a cognitive neuroscientist, I am particularly interested in the remarkable plasticity of the human brain, exploring the neural mechanisms that drive cognitive functions. I investigate how these processes change with aging and how non-invasive brain stimulation techniques can modulate and potentially enhance brain function. My work aims to deepen our understanding of the brain's adaptability and the potential for interventions to improve cognitive health across the lifespan.
I am currently a Heisenberg-Professor funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsmeinschaft, DFG), leading the 'Neuromodulation of Cognitive Functions' research group at the University Medicine Greifswald.
